Picture for the day:

This was taken in 2003 during our poly graduation. It was the day of our graduation and we went to Suntec city to have a good meal in the evening. I think it was also the first time that we had an outing as a class. Back then, there wasn't many choices to go as the amount of shopping malls weren't that many. We went to pizza hut and had our fill and the restaurant was also filled with our laughter and joy.

Each have gone their own way after graduation. I haven been in contact with most of them since then. But then, it was also this group that I found my best friends. Maybe its because my best friends have chosen the same career paths as myself. Every once in a while we still meet up for dinner or chill out sessions. Although it has been lesser recently since one of them has married and the other proposed.

Nevertheless, I would say that at different points of your life, there will be different sets of memories created. Although my poly days were not the most beautiful memories, it stills remains as part of my life as it was also the most important period of my life where I became more independent and sociable. Perhaps I will let you more into my life before poly days in the further posts.

Picture of the day:

This was taken in 2008 during my brother's ROM on the Singapore Flyer. The Singapore Flyer had just opened its doors and my brother was one of the lucky ones to be able to book a capsule for his ROM. The view on top was indeed spectacular. Although it could be better without the construction works. I think it would look alot better now since Marina Bay Sands have been completed.

Anyway, the 2 pink pens that I was holding was the pens that my brother used to seal his fate. If you look closely you will see that each pen end was a pig. It is used to signify both my brother and my sister-in-law. I can understand why the pig was used to signify my brother (his size) but my sister-in-law? I wonder.

Very seldom you will be able to see me in a shirt, with my hair nicely waxed, since I'm not the type who is really concerned about how I looked. But since it was my brother's big day, I was dressed to the nines and even had my hair waxed for him. Luckily, there was no need for me to put on make up for the occasion.

Although the idea of having the solemnisation in a capsule onboard the flyer was a pretty cool idea, it was actually quite boring. Imagine you only have a 5 x 5 metre area to walk around, and going 2 rounds takes about 1hr 30 mins. Of course, the number of people you can bring up is also limited to 25 pax. Minus away the family members, you can only bring up around 5 friends?

All in all, although the cramp space, we did managed to have a good time and enjoyed some good finger food that was for the session. We did took quite abit of pictures too. But end of the day, the whole session was about my brother. I wish them all the best and stay happily ever after.

Here's the picture for the day:

This picture was taken during our primary school gathering at Fish & Co in 2007. Thinking back, it seems like this was the most successful gathering organised as the turn up rate was great. Its interesting to have a gathering to see how your primary school friends have grown over the years. I'm glad that most of them actually took the time and effort to attend the gathering.

Looking back, it has been 18 years already. All the little boys and little girls are all grown up looking suave and beautiful. Some of them have married, some have kids, some still hanging around. Although we might have parted ways after primary school, I still believed that the friendship forged back then was the most genuine. Those were the days where it was pure friendship, and not friendship with a purpose.

Days and things were simple back in those days which I still fondly remembered. The pure and innocent ways of handling relationships, the 'friend and dun friend you' instances, the happiness and shyness when holding hands with the opposite sex, the laughter and joy we had in the class with the teacher. Where can you ever get this again?

Every once in awhile, we will still arrange for gathering sessions. I hope this will continue until the day where all of us will attend the gathering with white hairs and walking sticks. That will definitely be fun!

Picture for the day:

This was a picture of my favourite wine in Perth, Western Australia. We were introduced to this wine by our local mate when we went over in 2008. Unlike other wine, this was very sweet, yet very strong. We had to travel about an hour from Perth to Margaret River Area(if I remembered correctly) to the Berry Farm to get this wine. If you ask me, I would say the distance and time is definitely worth it.

I regretted only 'smuggling' only 1 bottle back then. Of course, it was finished up rather quickly due to its popular demand. After that, I yearned for it so much that I wanted my buddy to bring it over when he came back for Chinese New Year the following year. But as much as he wanted to help me, there was already a long list for him to bring back, so it didn't happened.

Therefore, when I went over with my loved one in 2010, I made a point to visit there during one of our scenery visiting trip. Although we nearly missed the closing time due to a wrong turn, we managed to reach just before the closing. This time, I got 5 bottles. 3 for my buddies and 2 for myself. Unfortunately, due to some unforseen circumstances at the airport, I was caught. I ended up having to pay 50 over bucks for the taxes imposed. Well, I would still say its worth it. That is how good the wine is!

Now, I still have one last bottle in my room. Though very tempted to open up the bottle, I try very hard not to. Because I know the time from me finishing the bottle to the time I get another bottle of it will be at least a few years! Therefore, I think I will just let the bottle sit there till the time is ripe.

Picture for today:

Due to time constraint, I will not write too much in case I overshot the time. This was taken during my Batam trip in 2009. It is something that you can never find in Singapore anymore. I'm a person who does not really like fast food, but I will have no qualms walking into this fast food restaurant anytime.

I remember the days when Singapore still has this fast food outlet around. That was when I was still pretty young. I would always look forward to the weekends when my dad would bring my brother and I to this fast food restaurant to have our meals. Back then, there was an outlet in the town centre where I was living nearby. I still remembered that I will always order the curly fries and root beer float, which are the trademark dishes for this restaurant.

Now that this restaurant is no longer found in Singapore, looks like the only way is to head to Batam if I want a meal from there. But then again, to travel all the way for a meal, I will leave it to yourself to decide. Would you?

Cheers~

Picture for the day:

Local food in a foreign country. We had this Hainanese Chicken Rice while holidaying in Perth, Western Australia back in 2008. Our local mate brought us to this 'Singapore' restaurant one of the nights for a late dinner. We were quite thrilled to be able to taste local food that we ordered quite a feast. However, it does taste quite different from what we have back home. Of course, different places cater to different people, the 'Singapore' food that we had was not exactly what we expected it to be. But nonetheless, we still enjoyed the food.

Realise that recently I have been posting pictures of my Australia trip. The fact is, I'm still attracted to going over there again this year, despite having went there for 2 times already. However, due to budget and other contraints, I guess the 3rd trip of mine to Australia will have to wait.

Cheers~

Pictures for 220211

Ok, I know, I exceeded the time again. So I will have to post 2 pictures again. Not that I'm finding excuses, but I've been pretty busy for the past 2 weeks with tons of work in the office. Not only did I have tons of emails to clear, I also got quite a tan that left me a shade darker with the out of office training. Here's the pictures for the day. Both of them were taken during my trip to Western Australia in 2008.

If I remembered correctly, this was taken at the Albany WindFarm. It is the most beautiful wind farm in the whole of WA (or so I was told by my local mate over there). Indeed, the view was breathtaking and the breeze was really cooling. We even saw wild kangeroos hopping around the windfarm while we were enjoying the scenery. Its kinda pity that I didn't get to bring my loved one back there again when I went over WA in 2010, due to the distance.

2nd picture for the day:

This was the picture of the 'famous' fish & chips that we had while on the way to Augusta, WA. I remembered we were on our way to visit the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse where we stopped by this small town just before the lighthouse. We were thinking of what to eat when we saw this small empty eatery by the side of the road. Not being able to decide what to eat, we just headed into the eatery. We ordered 3 sets of fish & chips. Look at the servings they give. I cannot really remember how much it costed, but I think it was quite cheap.

Notice the table does not have any saucer or any bottles of sauces around. Over at WA, we only needed salt and vinegar for our fish & chips, and that is enough to make it taste over the moon. Not something that can be done for the fish & chips of Singapore! Also, partly is because the sauces over there cost money! Lolx..

When I went over to WA in 2010, I passed by the same eatery en route to Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse again, and there it was, still at the same old place 2 years ago. Unfortunately, my loved one and I was not able to taste the same food I had as the eatery was closed on that day. But it did brought back wonderful memories for me. I hope to go there again, so that I can let my loved one experience the wonderful food there too.

I'm going end here. I guess this is one of the posts that is pretty long. I've been complained that I have not been writing long enough posts for reading.(Hey, people ACTUALLY read my blog!!!) Therefore, I'll TRY to write longer posts in the future. p.s: I'm not really good with words, so please pardon me =)

Cheers~

Picture for 210211

This picture was taken in 2008 during my Australia trip.

I liked the place so much that I went again in 2010. Everything there is to my liking, the weather, the slow pace of life, the natural scenery etc etc.. However, the one thing I do not like about the place is as shown above. Just look at the price. Its terrible! Although owning a vehicle over there is much cheaper then owning one in Singapore, but I guess it all balances out at the end of the day~

Luckily for us, the first time we went over, all these extra charges were covered by our local mate over there. This friend of mine has been staying there for *I think* around 5 years? We often joked about having a gathering over there until we actually made it happen in 2008. After our trip, we finally understand why this friend of ours intends to stay there permanently. Weighing all things, I think I'm starting to adopt this idea as well. But I guess that's only going to happen when I retire.

Cheers~

The picture for the day:

This was the christmas gift of 2010 given to me by my loved one. She had secretly went shopping for this gift without my knowledge. I was quite surprised when she 'presented' this gift to me. At the same time, I felt so ashame of myself for not getting her a gift. I'm sorry. Anyway, I liked the bracelet very much, thank you my dear. I will get you something in return soon =)

Here is the picture for the day:

This was a picture of what I had during my R&R (Rest & Relaxation) session in Kao Shiong, Taiwan. We were there on a overseas training exercise in 2008. I remembered quite clearly as I was given the opportunity to become the 2IC of a particular company to assist the OC in the exercise. I felt quite honoured as I was selected based on my experience and skills instead of who's available to go. Overall, the exercise was quite interesting and I really learned alot during the trip. I shan't bored with you with the details of the exercise, I shall give you more about the R&R session we had. I made quite a few friends during the trip. As this was not the first time they went for the overseas training, there was actually alot of things they had planned for the R&R session. We met up with a female friend of theirs during the session and she brought us around. Interesting, I found out that this Taiwan lady friend of theirs was previously living in Singapore with her then boyfriend, and they lived in the same area as I was. She brought us to a few different places for good food, which the above is one of them, and she also brought us to her workplace, which is one of the railway station. It was definitely an eye-opener for me. I look forward to going to Taiwan again, this time to the famous Taipei =)

Picture for today:

This picture was taken during my first trip to Hong Kong in 2008. I remember it was taken during one of the night drinking session at a KTV pub. I was quite surprise when we entered the pub because of the services they provided. They actually have free flow services for their beer, a service which I do not think Singapore will ever have. Of course, the free flow does not apply to beers like Carlsberg, Heineken or Tiger, but rather their home country beer : Blue Girl. After some drinking and singing session, comes the picture taking session. I was waiting to go to the loo when my friend snapped this picture of me. I think the dark patch is due to her finger covering the flash, but I would say this picture actually turned out quite nice. It looks as though I'm looking at something dark side coming to me. Eerie ~

Stay tuned for my next picture update. Cheers~

Picture for the day:

This was taken during my training for a dive trip in 2007. I remember the training was done at Outram Secondary School. They had this small pool in the school and the school has allowed dive teams to bring their students to the school for the training. It was quite interesting as it was my first attempt at diving. I was abit worried initially as I'm not a very strong swimmer, but as the training progresses, it was actually quite fun and not at all demanding. We had quite abit of fun during the training and it made us looked forward to the dive trip. I still remember it was the long weekend holidays during National Day that year that we went. It was so much fun! However, that seems to be the first and last dive trip that I ever went to. Many a times I wanted my loved one to learn the sport so we can go for some dive trips together, but everytime we will have a higher calling. I hope to be able to dive with her someday and enjoy the wonderful view that Mother Nature has given us.

Once again, with the clock ticking away fast, I have to do a short post again. Here is the picture for the day:

This was a night shot of Golden Palm Tree Resort in Sepang, Malaysia. This was the place when I spent 3 days 2 nights with my loved one the week after Lunar New Year. It was a relaxing trip, just look at the picture, I think it explains all. Isn't it breath taking? I shall post more pictures of the trip in my next post. Stay tuned~

Ever wonder why my posts are always close to the end of the day? Most of the time its because I only get to use my lappy with my picture around this time =p Ok, to cut the crap, here is the picture for the today:

This was taken during my trip to Batam in 2009. I'm quite game for alot of things actually, as I firmly believe that there are some 'must trys' during my tour on Earth. This is only the tip of the iceberg. I'm looking forward to the day where I will get to do things like bungee, skydiving, flying choppers and stuffs. But then again, reality check, all this is sure to cost a bomb. Let's see if I can save up enough for all.

Cheers~

Picture for 140211

I had wanted to blog this when I posted my previous post. But I wasn't able to due to the many times of failing to upload the pictures. These pictures were taken on Friday after a heavy downpour. I was on the way home after work when I saw what Mother Nature has done. On seeing it, it made me realised how small and weak we are when compared to Gaia. No matter how strong or smart we get, all it takes to wipe us out is a natural disaster. Perhaps this is the Big Man up there's way to remind us of our standings? Enough said, let the pictures do the talking instead.

Oh ya, before the day ends, Happy Valentine's Day to all.

Cheers~

Pictures for 110211, 120211 and 130211

Ok, first of all, apologises to those fans of my page, that I have disappointed you by not posting for the last 3 days. Truth is, my internet connection sucks, trust me to be paying a hefty sum every month to get a less than 5Mbps connection. I've called them up and demanded that something to be done, let's see what they can offer to appease me...

Now, for the picture for 110211:

This was a surprise birthday cake for me in 2010. It was prepared by my loved one and her god-nephews. I didn't quite expect the cake actually, probably because I have forgotten its my birthday the next day. So I didn't quite suspect anything when she insisted on heading home first that night. Thank you my darling~ =)

Picture for 120211:

This was a picture of my dashboard, taken while I was waiting for my loved one the other day. Somehow, I like the lime green colour of my dashboard when I turn on the lights. I've never seen another car with the same colour as mine(most of them I saw are either red, blue$ or white). I'm glad my car is somewhat different from the rest, and I like it that way =)

Picture for 130211:

My loved one was right, I was going to use this picture as one of the pictures to blog. This is what I sometimes have in the office. I'm quite prepared when it comes to such things. If possible, next time I will take more pictures of my office and blog it. I have tons and tons of such things in my office. Things like fridge, hifi set, game console, tv, etc.. To me, the workplace is like my 2nd home, therefore, I would like to make it as comfortable and cosy as it can be.

So, I would want to apologise once again for the lateness of the updating. Of course, the above mentioned are all execuses, for if I really wanted to blog I would have went all out to do so, like going to a LAN shop or something. So, please accept my apologies and stay tuned for the next update.

Cheers~

Picture for today:

On cloud nine, as this picture has shown. It was taken on the flight to my Lunar New Year getaway to Malaysia. It perfectly describes my feeling for the trip. It was a planned break away from work and the hussle bussle of city living. Although it was a 3 days 2 nights trip, it was worth every cent that I spent. I had a very relaxed trip with my loved one and we both enjoyed the trip very very much. We'll be looking forward to our next relaxation trip.

Picture for the day:

This was taken during one of the running session with my loved one's god nephew and god niece. Once in a while we will go for a healthy workout session, mostly in the evening. However, this time we did it in the hot afternoon. Partly because we got something on in the evening, and of course, working out in the hot afternoon yields the best results. Come to think about it, its been awhile since I last went for a run. I think I need to start running again, now as the Lunar New Year is over, so that my waistline doesn't get any larger~

Picture for today:

For the first time in my 25 years, I see snow. This was taken during my 2008 trip to Korea with my family and my loved one. It was such a memorable trip. It was a 7 days trip and we only managed to experience snow during the 2nd last day of our trip, lucky us! It was still dark in the morning when my dad called me from his hotel room excitedly, telling me to open my curtains. I was so thrilled that we quickly changed and went out of the hotel to play with the snow. We had so much fun building snowmen and doing snow fights. I wished we could experience it again soon.

Here's the picture for today:

As mentioned in my previous post, this was taken during my mahjong session. It was a miniature mahjong set that I bought from Hong Kong during my trip in 2008. It has been sitting in a corner of my house until recently when I brought it over to my loved one's house. The people there were interested in it and we started playing. It looks kinda silly with 4 pairs of big hands playing with such small tiles, but we did have lotsa fun. Looking forward to our next mahjong session.

Picture for 060211

I apologise for not posting for 050211. I was too busy playing mahjong with 3 new 'students' that I have just taught. We played till late at night and I guess I didn't have the energy to post after the games. I took a few pictures during the session, I guess I'll post them up soon.

Here's the picture for 050211:

This is the breakfast I made for my loved one for her birthday in 2010. Although it may just seem like a simple meal, but trust me, quite abit of effort was put in in preparing this dish. I'm happy that my loved one liked the meal. Its just something small that I can do for her =)

Here's the picture for 060211:

I was browsing through the pictures to chose one when I came across this. It brings back pretty good memories. This is a picture of the milk tea I had in Hong Kong. It was my first drink when I went over to Hong Kong for the first time in 2008. It's one of the best milk tea that I even had. I wished Singapore would adopt this drink.

Ok, that's all for now. Stay tuned..

This is the first sight that greeted me when I first landed my feet in Perth, Western Australia. That was 3 years ago. I was with another 2 buddies of mine, going over there to visit our other buddy. He is staying there for good, but comes back occassionally for festivals and others. We had a great time over there, which led me to go again in 2010, but this time with my loved one.

Overall, it was a wonderful trip. I look forward to going there many many times more.

Picture for 030211

Picture for today:

This picture was taken during my polytechnic days. I used to have this three little pushies hanging on my bag, now they are just sitting on a shelf in my room. That's the fate of pushies/toys etc.. You used to like them so much when you were young, and that you will always be seen with it. As time passes, you will gradually outgrow them and eventually chuck them to one side.

I'm glad I still kept them around =) That's all for today..

Cheers~

Picture for 020211

Oh shit, I can't believe I broke the chain again. Therefore, again, there will be 2 pictures in this post.

Here's picture 1:

I was at the carpark getting my car when I saw this interesting sight. I immediately whipped out my camera to try to get a shot of it. Although its quite difficult to get a very clear shot, I think this picture has captured the essence of it all. Look carefully and you will see what I mean =)

Ok, here's picture 2:

I was at Qian Hu Fish Farm when I took this shot. They have this type of small fish that eats the fungus off your body. They vary in sizes, I guess, depending on the amount of 'food' they had. It feels tickerish at first, but after awhile, you feel good because you know your feet is much cleaner. There are alot afew massage centres out there that have this type of fish, but they cost a bomb. Qian Hu is so much cheaper.

Ok, this is the 2nd time I didn't keep to my posting. At this rate, I'm going to run out of pictures pretty soon..Haha..

Happy Lunar New Year!! Gong Xi Fa Cai!! Hong Bao Many Many!! Huat Ar!!!!!!!!

Cheers~

Picture for 010211

Damn..didn't know I would break my chain so fast..I must apologise for not being able to make the post on the 010211. Therefore, the punishment will be posting of 2 pictures..

Maybe you will be thinking, "Aiyah, like that also call punishment?" Indeed, to some people, this may not be a punishment, but for me, it sure is. Why? The reason is because I'm not a "photo" person. The amount of photos that I have, I think a 512mb flash card will be able to contain all, seriously..

Ok, to cut the chase, here is picture 1:

This is a part of the figurine set that I bought a few years ago. It is supposed to be pinned on a shirt as an accessory, but I found it to be nicer pinned to my car. It have been sitting there for the past few years, as if its watching after me and the car. Hope its really the case..

Here's picture 2:

This happened during the SYOG Appreciation dinner that was held in my camp. While we were waiting for the dinner to commence, one of my guys decided to do an illegal parking and go for a quick shower before the dinner. As soon as he left his car to go up, the remaining of us quietly shifted our cars to the respectively positions as shown in the picture. To make things worse, we even shifted 2 benches and placed it beside the driver's enterance. Once that's done, all of us left for the dinner, leaving the situation as such. Needless to say,he never did an illegal parking again.

Okay, so these are the 2 pictures for 010211. I'll try to keep to my promise again.

Cheers ~
